Update #2 5/30/2010: I took a look at the ads today and here’s the breakdown:

Target is selling the combo pack for $26.99 but will give a $5 gift card with purchase of another Alice in Wonderland product. (Edited 6/1/2010, I apologize for any confusion)
Best Buy has the combo pack listed for $26.99, but if you go to one of their midnight sales you can get $5 off. Best Buy also has an “exclusive” combo pack; this just means the cover is different. Collectible character cards are also included as a special deal at Best Buy.
Walmart’s price for the combo pack is $24.96.

I’m going to go with Target as the nearby Best Buy is not selling at midnight and I’m not really interested in the different cover nor the character cards; I’d rather the $5 gift card.

Take your business to Wal-Mart unless you want the “exclusive” cover and cards. I went to Target tonight and found out there was tiny print I couldn’t read on my computer screen that said the $5 gift card was for the combo pack AND another Alice in Wonderland purchase (such as the soundtrack).

Finding a registered domain can sometimes tell us something is on the horizon. As I was surfing today, I came across a thread on DVDTalk.com. In this thread, the participants speculate on a $10 coupon for the upcoming Alice in Wonderland Blu-Ray release on June 1, 2010. Sure enough, one member came across the domain registration information for AliceCoupon.com through a WHOIS lookup. As of now, it links to a Disney Movie Rewards “Page Not Found” page. For your reference, here is the domain registration information.

Registering AliceCoupon.com doesn’t guarantee a discount; registering a domain only costs about $10 a year. However, given Disney’s recent track record, including $10 coupons for The Princess and the Frog as well as Toy Story and Toy Story 2, a $10 coupon for Alice in Wonderland seems likely. I suggest keeping an eye on AliceCoupon.com throughout the next week; hopefully we will see a coupon appear soon. Also keep an eye on the Sunday ads; one or two stores may deeply discount Alice in Wonderland to get more bodies in the store. I’ll keep an eye out and post an update here and on Twitter; if you see something before I do, please let me know!
